NEW YEAR THOUGHTS…AGAIN

Will it be any different this year for our goals finding some life? All of us who set goals each January, battle with our hearts and minds to watch them grow into transformational outcomes or flee back into the shadows of our minds. Much of goal-setting and follow through is emotional. Any of us can make a list. Few of us can overcome all the doubts, fears and low resistance to outside distractions that invade our simple goal lists. Try these “exercises” this year to better insure your results:
1. After you write your goals, go back to each one and make it “fight for its life” through your questioning of it. ASK: “Why did I set ‘you’ as a goal? Why did I set ‘you’ NOW? How will I predict ‘your’ outcome? Should I modify ‘you’ to make sure of some transformational results? Should this goal’s milestone be changed? (longer time to results, shorter time to results)
2. Hire a coach to hold you accountable.
3. Add some depth to your goals. If you find yourself just setting goals around the same categories (e.g. career, job performance, finances, diet, health, etc.), add other categories for holistic results. Try adding all FIVE of these categories to your goal-setting process:
1. MY PROFESSIONAL LIFE GOALS
2. MY PERSONAL LIFE GOALS
3. MY PHYSICAL LIFE GOALS
4. MY LEGACY LIFE GOALS
5. MY SPIRITUAL LIFE GOALS
I’ve found with my coaching clients that this brings attention to our “depth of being.” If you need some help getting this concept started feel free to email me directly at:
